Weekly Devotion: Stepping out in Faith

Matthew 14: 31-32

“… And immediately Jesus stretched out His hand and caught him, and said to him, “O you of little faith, why did you doubt?” 32 And when they got into the boat, the wind ceased…”

I usually post my weekly devotion on Wednesdays as a pick me up for the rest of the week. I have been a little neglectful recently as I do attend school full-time, plus I also have an internship, and a job. So I have not had the leisure time to post something new, but this has been something I have been struggling with, and learning to do as well so I wanted to share.

Getting out of our own way, and stepping outside of our comfort zone can be frightening.  But sometimes God calls us to unfamiliar territory so that he can use us to our full potential. He wouldn’t have called us there if he didn’t think we could handle it. It will always be scary embarking on something new when we have no idea how to even go about starting it. Which is why we need to have FAITH, and in this passage that is exactly what Peter did he had faith.

We need to commit to the godly desires of our heart and listen to them, that is God speaking. That is him trying to use us. We all have dreams and some of us are terrified of pursing them. I am that person. I am always in my own head. I am so creative and I have all these ideas, and more and more I am seeing these ideas come to fruition by other individuals. Although it hurts, I know that God has so much in store for me, and that is his way of telling me that I can do it if I doubt less and trust more.

God will always leads us, he knows that nothing happens over night. So he expects us to take the steps needed to prosper in our full potential, because he cannot do it alone. He needs us to walk on that path when he shows us the way. When we are able to walk without fear and let God take the lead role in our lives he will begin to open doors we never knew were there, and opportunities will come that we were never expecting.

Ask God to show you the way to make those dreams a reality, and remember every step counts no matter how small you may think they are, it’s a step to a greater entity you never knew was coming.

So STEP OUT IN FAITH, and trust God to guide your steps. Which will not only lead you to your full earthly potential, but lead you through the gates of Heaven.

Weekly Devotion: Commitment and Purpose

Isaiah 26:3 you will keep in perfect peace him whose mind is steadfast, because he trusts in you. (NIV)

The more you stay focused and committed on your goals, the more likely you are to achieve them. I know first hand that this is easier said than done, and many of us give up too easily when something becomes difficult, or if we are thrown curve balls resulting in set backs.

If you are truly doing what God has called you to do, and you are honing in on your God-given gifts and talent, giving up is not an option.  Although some tasks may be difficult, boring, or what some would say it’s beneath you, or if you are not getting recognized, continue to do it. Not everyone who made a change got credit immediately, God will ensure that you are remembered for the things you should be remembered for.

Without commitment from our Lord, we wouldn’t be here to today. So don’t give up no matter what it is, as everything little step counts, and one day you will rejoice in the fruits of your labour as you are walking in your purpose.

WEEKLY DEVOTION

1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 – “Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.”

No matter what is going on in your life, remember that it could be worse. Give thanks for what you have and be grateful for how far you have come no matter how small the steps may be. (this is something that I am trying to learn myself as it is easier said than done)

I know at times it seems like you’re in the worst of the storm, and it will not cease; but it will.

When your going through it, give it to GOD let him handle it the battle is not yours it’s the Lord’s!

Weekly Devotion

So, my YouTube addiction is listening to singers, and the AMAZING covers they do. This young lady gave me the chills when I first listened to her last week. Someone posted a video on my boyfriend’s Facebook page and I was hooked at that moment.

The song she is singing is called “Order my Steps” This song is a gospel song asking God to order your steps which means to help us walk in the Godly way in all that we do.

She blessed my spirit, I hope she also blesses yours!
